(side) For good fortune! Emperor Caesar T. Aelius Hadrian Antoninus Augustus, son of god Hadrian, grandson of god Trajan–victorious in Parthia–and great-grandson of god Nerva, greatest high-priest (i.e. pontifex maximus), with tribunician power for the sixth time, proclaimed emperor (imperator) for the second time, father of the fatherland, to the athletic synod of victorious and crowned athletes gathered around Herakles, greetings.

I ordered that you receive a space in which to place the sacred objects and the documents, near the hot baths themselves, those which were built by my grandfather, where you often come together for the Capitoline games. Farewell. Ulpius Domesticus was the ambassador, officer in charge of my baths.

This was written May 16 from Rome in the consulship of Torquatus and Herodes.
