This inscription from Delphi (ca. 360 BCE) shows that Asklepiads (a group or clan including physicians) from both Knidos and Kos had by this time joined together in a common association, a κοινόν.
The association (koinon) of the Asklepiads of Kos and Knidos resolved that any Asklepiad who comes to Delphi, whenever he needs to consult the oracle or to sacrifice, should consult the oracle after he has sworn that he is a member of the Asklepios-clan (Asklepiadēs) (10) by descent through the male line … (missing lines 11–17) … But anybody who does not follow (?) … this procedure (20) shall not be admitted to the oracle as the members of the Asklepios-clan (Asklepiadai) are, and he should not receive any other privilege that may be granted to the members of the Asklepios-clan by the Delphians unless he acts in accordance with what has been written here.
