Horos slab of marble broken in two pieces found built into the wall of a modern house northwest of the Areopagus (inv. I 5881). On "contributors" (eranistai) as ongoing associations rather than merely ad hoc loaning groups, see the recent study by Thomsen 2015. The phrase "sold on condition of release" (πεπραμένων ἐπὶ λυσει) denotes not an actual sale, but the offering of securities for a loan with an expectation that the pledged securities would be "released" upon repayment of the loan.

(hand 1) Marker (horos) . . . of a property and house (?) . . . sold on condition of release . . . for a loan of x (21 or more) drachmas (?) . . . to Name from Bate subdivision (hand 2) and for a loan of 1300 drachmas to the contributors (eranistai) who are with Blepaios.
