In the 25th year of Caesar, on the 22nd of the month of Hathyr, at the assembly that occurred in Paratomos of the synod (synodos) of the god emperor Caesar Augustus, whose synagogue-leader (synagōgos) and president (prostatēs) is Primos, a slave of Caesar, and whose priest is Ioukoundos, a slave of Caesar, and whose head of the gymnasium is Alexandros, with most of the members assembled. Whereas we have ordered the aforementioned priest Ioukoundos to take funds which he has the authority to draw from the synod and to pay the 120 Ptolemaic silver drachmas that Syntrophos owes to . . . Name, the slave (?) of Caesar, on behalf of Syntrophos, a slave of Caesar and member of the synod, before the thirty-first day of the present year (i.e., within one month).
By common consent it was agreed, first, that Ioukoundos should pay in full, before the thirtieth of Hathyr, the 120 silver drachmas including interest on behalf of Syntrophos, and second, that the funds that he has received from the synod be credited to Ioukoundos against what he owes to the synod and that Ioukoundos should not be accountable in regard to these matters. No one is permitted to take an action against this payment or to . . . such things, for the signed document written in duplicate is valid. . . . the one . . . the other.
