Slab of marble found in the old church in Antimachea (63 x 33 x 6 cm).

(two olive crowns) When Nikophronos was sovereign magistrate (monarchēs; i.e. the eponymous official of Kos), in the month of Artamitios, it was resolved by the association (koinon) of those brought together by the god Zeus Hyetios (“Rain-bringer”) on the proposal of Charmippos son of Parmeniskos, Philistos son of Philistos, and Lykaithos son of Parmeniskos: Whereas Nikagoras son of Theudoros and Lykaithos son of Leukippos, voluntary monthly officers (epimēnioi), made offerings of appeasement to Zeus, revived the sacrifice of Zeus, and arranged a reception for fellow members of the subdivision (damotai) and all the others in a manner worthy of the gods, leaving out nothing in their zeal and eagerness.  Therefore, in order that, along with these things, the chosen monthly officers may supply many things eagerly, recognizing the goodwill of the members of the subdivision, it was resolved to praise Nikagoras and Lykaithos for their conduct and the piety which they especially have towards the god and the members of the subdivision and to crown the same with ten gold crowns.  Now the treasurers (tamiai) will have the decree inscribed on a monument (stele) of stone and set up alongside the altar of Zeus.  The cost that is incurred for the monument will be paid by the treasurers.
