Round shield of white marble with a rim (44 cm in diameter). Now in the British Museum, inv. 1867,0504.3. The inscription forms, roughly, a diamond shape (see facsimile below) in order to fit on the shield.

Aristokrateus (?) son of Polyainetos of Silyrios, who has been commander of everything in the station which is on the island, commander of undecked ships, priest (?) in Kamiros; overseer of the sacred; performer of purifications; . . . secretary (?) . . . of the civic inspectors (mastroi).  He has been crowned with a gold . . . crown (?) . . . by the civic inspectors twice; by the association (?) of devotees of Asklepios (Asklepiastai), Pythian deities (Pythiastai), and Hermes (Hermaistai); by the association of Sarapis-devotees (Serapiastai) who are in Kamiros; by the association of Pyrgalidians who are in Lelos; by the association of Nakoreians. . . .   He has been sent as overseer of the sacred to . . . Imbros (?), . . . Lemnos, and Didyma; . . . he has been ambassador (?) . . . to the Alexandrians.  . . . He has been crowned (?). . . by the Council with a gold (?) crown.  . . . Name, secretary of the People honored his leader. . . This is dedicated to Hestia (?) . . . and to Zeus Teleios (“Fulfiller of Rites”).
