Console found in the market (agora; inv. S 1308; 55.4 x 45 cm). On the typical caravan routes used by Palmyrene merchants, see the description of IOriente 83.
This is the statue of Zabdibol, son of Ogelu, grandson of Ammat, great grandson of Aki, from Palmyra. The Palmyrene merchants (emporoi) who went up from Spasinou Charax set this up in his honor.
(Palmyrene translation follows, adding that honoree was from the tribe of Maazin).
