Base of Lartian marble (30 x 48 x 37.5 cm). The fact that this group devoted to Adonis honors a man from Crete may suggest an association including a mixture of immigrant members.

The association of contributors (eranistai) of Adonis-devotees (Adoniazontes) honored Sosikles son of Sosos, Kretan, with the title of benefactor and with an exemption.  He is also to be free from contributions and to be crowned during each Adonis festival (Adonia) with a crown of olive branches and to be proclaimed.  The association also honored Damatrios son of Damatrios, head of the contributors (archeranistēs), with the title of benefactor and with an exemption.  He is also to be free from contributions and to be crowned . . . during each Adonis festival with a crown of olive branches and to be proclaimed.
