Rectangular altar (70 x 26 x 14 cm; letter height: 2-4 cm). Boubon (sometimes transliterated Bubon) was located about 20 km south of Kibyra. Although no guild is mentioned, this inscription is included here since the deceased refers to fellow-farmers in declaring his superiority.
Having lived well and died, Daphnos, the best of the gardeners (kēpouroi), prepared his own grave after much toil. That’s it.
Translation by: Harlandκα̣λῶ̣[ς ζήσας] {καλῶ̣[ς ζῶν]; Schindler, following Heberdey and Kalinka} | κὲ θανὼν̣ | Δάφνος | κηπουρῶν̣ || ἄριστος | τὸ ἡρῷον | ἑαυτῷ̣ κατε|σκεύασεν κὲ | μετὰ τὸ πολ||λὰ κοπιάσαι | ταῦτα.
