Small fragment of a slab of gray-blue limestone, now in the Argos Museum (inv. E 213). The term ἄφισμα is an otherwise unattested hapax legomenon but the likely meaning of "statue" is relatively clear in this case.
Nikostratos son of Nikostratos of the colonists (katoikoi) in Argos contributed funds to the synod (synodos) of iron-smiths (sidareoi). Since I checked into the loss of the statue (?; aphisma) of Hephaistos from the temple (naos), I also put up another . . . upon the base.
