bibliography

Large cylindrical base (130 cm x 70-100 cm diameter). Found in 1883 in the northern portico of the Rectangular (Tetragonon) Agora (inv. Ε 291). It is not clear whether these workers formed an ongoing association with some structure.

Those working (hoi ergazomenoi) in the Rectangular Market set this up for the Roman People, for the Athenian People, and for themselves and the merchants (emporoi).  This was dedicated to Apollo and Hermes.

This was done when Polykleitos son of Alexandros from Phlya subdivision was supervisor of the island and when Diophantes son of Aristokles from Marathon subdivision and Therocharis son of Hestiaios from Kerameon were in charge of the sacred rites.
