bibliography

Base of white marble (94 x 59 x 64 cm). Found in 1902 in a wall of the baths in the Rectangular (Tetragonon) Agora. Roussel suggests the possibility that the donors here were members of the Italian Hermaists, but this is not certain. Either way it seems that we're dealing with a group of Italians which may have formed an association.

(left, Latin) P. Venoleius freedman of Gaius, N. Nimmius son of Novius, L. Viseius freedman of Gaius, and C. Venoleius son of Gaius have set up the altar for Maia.

(right, Greek) Publius Venoleius freedman of Gaius, Nemerius Nimmius son of Novius, Lucius Viseius freedman of Gaius, and Gaius Venoleius son of Gaius dedicated this for Maia when Dionysios was civic leader (archon) at Athens, Euagion son of Alketas from Kothikidai subdivision was supervisor of the island.

Graphikos and Myron made this.
