During the civic presidency of Flavius Perigenes, when Vedia Paiane was serving as priestess of Athena for life, when Titus Flavius Julianus was secretary of the People, and when the clothing-cleaners (gnapheis; or: fullers) and bleachers (leukantoi) were superintendents of the goddess Artemis (i.e. of her adornment or clothing), the boys (paides) and maidens (parthenoi) under Quintus . . . Name. . . Marcus have presented the adornment (kosmos; or: clothing) for the goddess: Dionysodoros son of Menodoros, grandson of Dionysios for the third generation; Daphnos II, grandson of Krateros and great-grandson of Apollonios; Xenokles II, also called Posidonios, grandson of Metras; Julius Ariston son of Ariston; Bassos son of Asklepiades and grandson of Asklepiades; Publius Apuleius Aphrodeisios son of Aphrodeisios; Gemmelos son of Prytanikos; and, Hermias son of Eutyches, grandson of Orpheus and great-grandson of Metrophanes. I have dedicated to the secretaries of the elders (geraioi) the bronze statue of Tyche, 20000 copper coins, and a two pitchers (sextarii; i.e. holding about one pint each).
