Construction of a Covered Walkway for a Synagogue (III CE) Stobi - Macedonia

Stobi (Macedonia, Greece and Macedonia — Pleiades map), II-III CE
IStobi 25 = Ž. Vinčić, M. Buzalkovska-Aleksova, Systasis 2/3 (2003) ( = SEG 61 (2011), no. 514ter = AGRW ID# 24827

Circular paving slab of marble. Found re-purposed in the central basilica. This is likely a pavement stone from the earlier Judean synagogue of Stobi which is referred to in another inscription on this site: see AGRW 46 = GRA I 73 = IJO I Mac1 = CIJ 694.

Alexander the manager (phrontistēs) built the covered walkway of the holy gathering (or: synagogue; synagōgē).   A blessing for everyone.
