Description: This structure was located north of the temple of Apollo in the Skardana quarter (northeast of the sacred harbour). It consisted of a courtyard surrounded by columns to the northeast (where there was also a cistern), a large courtyard to the northwest, and a smaller courtyard to the southwest. There is also a series of small to medium-sized rooms along the south side (probably residential accommodation and warehouses). Along the southwest side are four small shrines devoted to the deities of the homeland (likely Poseidon, Astarte, and Melqart) and to the goddess Roma. Sacrifices to these gods most likely took place in the smaller courtyard. The complex underwent at least one major renovation before the first half of the first century BCE, after which the building was destroyed. For a detailed description of the building phases, see Trümper 2002.
