bibliography

Altar of marble inscribed on three sides, with the top hollowed out to act as a receptacle, now in the Thessaloniki Archaeological Museum (inv. no. Μθ 1767).

(C: left side panel) The initiates (mystai), small and large, are each to bear a crown of roses (i.e. during the Rose festival). The one who does not shall not share in my gift. But if the holm oak bearers (prinophoroi) do not do this, then the bequest belongs to the society (thiasos) of the oak branch bearers (dryophoroi), subject to the same conditions. But if the other society does not do this, then the bequest is to be for the city.

(A: Front panel) Euphronsyne, niece of Dioskous, Eueian priestess.

(B: right side panel) . . . being Eueian priestess of Prinophoros, I bequeath for my eternal memory two plethra of vineyards [1.76 sq. km] with the ditches, in order that from the income sacrifices worth not less than five denarii may be burned for me.
