bibliography

Monument of marble. M. Ulpius Domesticus is described primarily as a citizen of Ephesos in IGUR 238, which involves honors for his son, M. Ulpius Firmus Domesticus, who was likewise high-priest of the athletes.

The sacred athletic synod of settlers gathered around Herakles and lodging in royal Rome honored M. Ulpius Domesticus, head of the athletes for life and high-priest of the whole athletic meeting, incredible victor in all the important games, officer in charge of the Augustan baths, their own patron and ambassador who requested the sanctuary for the whole athletic meeting.

Mettius Amerimnus set up the honor when L. Vennius Agrippianus and M. Mettius Amerimnos were leaders (archontes).
