(column 1) In the second year of emperor Nero Claudius Caesar Drusus Germanicus, on the sixth of the month of Choiach. It seemed good to the synagogue of the Judeans in Berenike that they should inscribe on a monument of Parian stone the names of those who contributed towards the restoration of the synagogue (synagōgē):
