Papyrus (9.5 x 7.5 cm), now at the University of Michigan (inv. 5374 28-B163A-A). This is a poorly written document with a variety of grammatical errors. The letter is written on the reverse side (verso): on the front side (recto) is a receipt for 18 1/16(?) artabai of wheat

To Thrax, the supervisor (epimelētēs), and to the members of the synod (synoditai), from Epiodoros. Since I am in poor condition (asthenōs; poor financial or health conditions) and unable to make contributions to the association (or: common fund; koinon [?]), I ask that you accept my resignation. Farewell.

Year 24. Farewell. First of the month of Mesore.

To the fellow members of the synod.

Translation by: Harland and Kloppenborg
