Plaque of marble containing three decrees set up by the society members in successive years (A: 302/301 BCE; B: 301/300 BCE; C: 300/299 BCE..

(A) When Nikokles was civic leader (archōn), the society members (thiasōtai) approved the following motion: Whereas Stephanos the breastplate maker, when he became the supervisor (epimelētēs) of all the association’s affairs, administered them with the appropriate care and continued to be ambitious in other matters concerning the association (koinon). And whereas he conducted the procession in honor of Adonis in accordance with ancestral customs. To good fortune! The society members resolved: to commend Stephanos the supervisor on account of the ambition and the nobility of character that he has exhibited towards the association of the society members; to crown him with an olive wreath; and, to give to him ten drachmas. Having been crowned by the association, he dedicated the statue of Demeter Homonoia (“Concord”) of the association.

The society members of Aphrodite honored Stephanos son of Mylothros.

(B) When Klearchos was civic leader (archōn), the society members approved the following motion: Whereas Stephanos, formerly having been a supervisor and now having been chosen as a performer of the sacrifices (hieropoios) with his fellow performers of the sacrifices, has been a generous person and has offered to the gods the sacrifices which by ancestral custom are offered to them, and whereas he has exercised care over the other matters that are his to care for. To good fortune! The society members resolved to commend Stephanos the performer of sacrifices on account of the ambition and the nobility of character that he has exhibited towards the association of the society members; to crown him with an olive wreath; and, to give to him ten drachmas.

The society members of Aphrodite honored Stephanos son of Mylothros

(C) When Hegemachos was civic leader (archōn) – to good fortune – Sokles made the following motion: Whereas Stephanos, having become a performer of sacrifices, has conducted faithfully the sacrifices to Aphrodite, the society members resolved to commend Stephanos son of Mylothros; to crown him with an olive wreath; and, to give him 20 drachmas from the treasury. Having received this money, he shall dedicate a statue in the temple, inscribing it with this decree, so that as many as are ambitious will see that the society members know how to return appropriate thanks.
