 168-164 BCE

bibliography

Fragment of a slab of white marble inscribed on the front (A) and the back (B). The very fragmentary inscriptions on the two sides may or may not be a single text. Several terms suggest that an association–perhaps of performers or athletes–is involved here. The "priest of the synod" is mentioned on line 10 of side A and an "association" (koineion = koinon) is mentioned on line 15 of side A. The group had functionaries called "head monthly officers" (ἀρχεπιμήνιοι), whose responsibilities included the granting of crowns (after the communal meal) for honored individuals, including the Attalid royals (Attalos I and Apollonis, who had died before these honors for them), the Attalid high-priest, and leaders of the association (side A, lines 6-12). The deity Zeus Tropaios ("the Defeater of Enemies") is mentioned on line 25 on side B. Found near ancient Apollonia (east of Pergamon).

Too fragmentary to translate.
