bibliography

Horos stone. On "contributing-members" (eranistai) as ongoing associations rather than merely ad hoc loaning groups, see the recent study by Thomsen 2015. The phrase "sold on condition of release" (πεπραμένων ἐπὶ λυσει) denotes not an actual sale, but the offering of securities for a loan with an expectation that the pledged securities would be "released" upon repayment of the loan. In this case, however, there is no mention of the condition, which may suggest an actual sale, if not a security for a loan.

. . . Marker (horos) (?) . . . of a house sold to the contributing-members (eranistai) who are with Xenopeithes.
