[79] Dedication to the Hero Manimazos by Banqueters (imperial era) Odessos - Scythia and Moesia

Odessos (Scythia and Moesia, Danube and Black Sea areas — Pleiades map)
AGRW 79 = IGBulg I 77(2) = AÉ (1928), no. 146 = PHI 167955  = ID# 3715

bibliography

The inscription appears below a relief. Correction to AGRW book: The book version of this inscription interpreted θυνεῖται as a reference to "tuna-fishermen"; a more likely possibility is that θυνεῖται is a misspelling of θοινεῖται (cf. IGBulg I² 78(3)), namely "banqueters."

This was dedicated to the Hero Manimazos.  The banqueters of Hermas who are gathered around the priest (hiereus) Eptaikenthes son of Asiatikos did this when Theodotos son of Herakon and Zenis son of Posidonios were supervisors (epimelētai).
