Papyrus (32 x 28.5 cm) from the archives in Tebtynis, now in Ann Arbor, Michigan inv. 1277. The precise meaning of apolysimoi here is unclear, but it suggests that these people have been “released”, “discharged” or “exempted” from particular duties or services They may be a group of exempted tenant farmers who work on the estate. Cf. SB VI 9224, likely involving an “exempted tenant farmer” (apolysimos g[eōrgos]).
